Algeria is intent on getting engaged in two international friendlies in efforts to rotate the squad.

The Desert Foxes have lost a couple of players, notable among them being former Fulham defender Rafik Halliche who retired from international football after playing his last match last Friday in the friendly win over Benin.

Carl Mehjani looks headed in that direction to who now plays for Saudi Premier League side Ohod Al-Medina.

And gaffer Djamel Belmadi is aware he will need replacements for the departing duo to keep his squad balanced and hopes two international friendlies next month accords him that when he tries out some new players.

‘We made a mistake. We do not have FIFA dates. I have to wait and see for few days but one thing is certain it (the friendlies) will be against two big African teams,’ he said in the aftermath of his 1-0 win over Benin which had him stretching his unbeaten run.

It took a Islam Slimani’s lone penalty goal to get Algeria breezing past The Squirrels of Benin.
