Leading by Example: Andre Ayew Offers to Buy Tickets for Players Who Are Unable to Pay for Themselves

According to a BBC report, Andre Ayew has offered to pay for the plane tickets of seven Black Stars.
Ahead of a no-consequence against Rwanda on Saturday, Ghana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports decided it’s not necessary to use its funds to fly in players. Instead, the ministry asked the Ghana Football Association to line up locally based players. A move that seems reasonable considering Ghana has already qualified, and Rwanda has been eliminated.
However, the countries coach, Avram Grant would disagree. Instead, he wants his best players presented so they can prep for a world cup qualifier game against Congo in October.
Ibrahim Sannie, The GFA’s director of communications, told BBC Sport that: “The players themselves have decided to pay for their own tickets to Accra. Unfortunately, there are a few players who are unable to pay for themselves, so Andre Ayew has decided to pay for them.
“And although Ayew is injured he will come to Accra to support the players.”
