Leicester Interested in £ 30m Rated Algerian Forward

Leicester is reportedly interested in Algerian forward Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon. The 28-year-old was prolific for Algeria, scoring 23 goals and creating eight to become the country’s fifth highest all-time top scorer. He has also been outstanding for his club scoring 57 goals in 107 appearances.

The Foxes will be looking to increase their goal scoring options after the departure of Andrej Kramaric to Hoffenheim. They are also seeking to strengthen their squad and might make a new club record bid to acquire the services of the striker.

The deal looks to be materializing after Sporting signed two strikers in the last few days. They raided the Bundesliga and signed Bas Dost from Wolfsburg and Luc Castaignos from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The last season, Slimani was a goal-scoring extraordinaire. He scored 27 goals in 33 appearances to help his club finish second with just two points behind Benfica.

The Foxes hope to be prepared for their maiden Champions League campaign after they were drawn in group G against FC Porto, Club Brugge, and Copenhagen.

Salami also confirmed the speculation in his last game when he left the game in tears after their 2-1 win against Benfica. He will surely be excited to join his Algerian counterpart Riyad Mahrez.
