Zimbabwe Star Sparks Interest From South African Clubs

Zimbabwe international Ronald Pfumbidzai is courting overtures from clubs in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League.

The left-sided defender-cum-midfielder is under contract with Zimbabwe Premier League giants CAPS United but his performance has attracted sides in PSL to sit up and take notice.

Cash-wielding Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are among a number of clubs studying the player’s rapid progress. A bid hasn’t been formally submitted but interest from the aforesaid trio outfits is gaining momentum, according to reports in Harare and Johannesburg.

The Green Machine – the nickname for the Harare-based club – is understood to have tabled a valuation in excess of €70,000 for the player.

The 22-year-old would be cup-tied should he move to Sundowns, who reports suggesting, is favorite to land the defender having featured for CAPS United in the CAF Champions League already.

Pfumbidzai is expected to adopt to the South African top division having previously played for Danish Super League team Hobro IK even though his spell there lasted only a few months following a feud with compatriot, Quincy Antipas.
