Zanaco Brush Binga Aside

Zanaco beat Binga 3-0 in CAF Confederation Cup second round, first leg clash played at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday afternoon.

The Bankers unsettled Binga soon after the start and threatened to take the lead courtesy of dangerously looking attempts by Eric Owusu, Moses Phiri and Abraham Siankombo.

Binga continued to play second fiddle shortly before the half-hour mark, but were let off the hook after Keita hoofed a low ball into the area from Camara way over the top.

Zanaco took the lead on the 37th minute courtesy of Abraham Siankombo from a direct free kick with the visitors defence napping.

Camara almost pulled one back for Binga in the 44th minute, but his powerful effort from distance crashed off the crossbar.

Lameck Siame was called into action in the 50th minute, as the Bankers goalkeeper did well to keep out Mohamoud’s long rang effort.

Zanaco made it two goals midway through the second half Moses Phiri headed a cross-field delivery into the top corner with Binga keeper well beaten.

The Bankers soaked up bits of pressure afterwards and snatched a third goal on the 72nd minute after Phiri picked up a loose pass to fire beneath Mendes from a tight angle.
