Zamalek Set Sights On Pyramids Striker

Zamalek are reportedly interested in again testing the resolve of Pyramids by showing interest in on-form striker Ramadan Sobhi.

The 24-year-old attacker has emerged as one of the club’s leading performers in their incredible 2020/21 campaign thus far.

Currently eight on the Egyptian Premier League table and with five matches in hand, Sobhi has been at the heart of their dominant displays.

According to Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron, the former Huddersfield Town player has now been identified as a potential solution to remedy the goal-scoring crisis at the White Knights.

“Ramadan is an important and tough player, so we are interested in him alongside signing more talented players,” Carteron said in an interview with a local television.

“We are working to build up a brilliant squad for the coming season to compete for all titles.”

Sobhi potential departure from Pyramids would allow the club to fund moves for their summer targets, with Takis Gonias already keen on adding more strength to the squad.

Before joining Pyramids, Sobhi had spent one-and-half seasons on loan at Al Ahly after struggling to settle in at Huddersfield in 2018.

The loan deal was later cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic with Pyramids later snapping him at undisclosed fee.
