Yanga Unveil Nasreddine Nabi As New Coach

Tanzanian Premier League side Yanga Sports Club has confirmed Tunisian Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi as their new head coach.

He replaces Cedric Kaze, who was sacked along with his entire staff following a string of poor results at the beginning of March.

Nabi has a wealth of experience in Africa having coached teams in DR Congo, Egypt, Sudan and Libya.

The 56-year-old was also coach of Italian fourth-tier side Pont Donazz Hone Arnad between July and November 2019.

Nabi has been given a renewable two-year contract, although Yanga administration would not reveal what targets must be met to extend the deal.

“I have been following a lot about this team and when they contacted me, it was an offer I could not resist,” said Nabi during the unveiling ceremony.

“I know the magnitude of the club I have joined, I know how ambitious they are and I know what they want to achieve at the end of the season, so my work will be to make sure the club reaches the goals they had set before the season started.

“It is a big challenge for me, but I will make sure we move in a good direction, because my philosophy is always to win matches, so I will ask the fans to support us and I know they will.”

Yanga are currently on the top of Vodacom-sponsored league log and they will host Gwambina FC on Tuesday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
