Kenyan international Paul Were Ooko has rejoined AFC Leopards on a short term deal until the end of the season.

The Left-footed winger terminated his contract his Greek club Trikala Football Club and has returned to the den five years after he departed.

“He’s back. Welcome to the den Paul Were,” Leopards said in a brief statement.

A graduate of South B based Fisa academy, Were started out at Tusker FC before decamping to AFC Leopards. He later joined South African club Amazulu before later moving to Greece where he featured for Kalloni, Acharnaikos, Kalamata. He briefly moved to Kazakhstan where he joined Kaisar. Early this year he returned to Greece with Trikala.

The club has also acquired the services of Mt. Kenya United FC winger, Boniface Mukhekhe. Mukhekhe is an alumnus of a Kitale based football powerhouse. He started out with the now defunct GFE 105 in 2017 before moving to Mt. Kenya United at the start of 2018 season. He was linked with a move to Ulinzi Stars and Mathare United but Ingwe had managed to secure his services.

“AFC Leopards is pleased to announce the signing of Boniface Wafula Mukhekhe from Mt.Kenya United on a 2 years contract deal,” read the statement.

Leopards are currently 10th in the Kenyan Premier League table.
