Vipers SC will have their dependable centre-back Rashid Toha available for selection when the Uganda Premier League (UPL) club returns to action, after missing his services since August 2019 due to injury.

Toha, who injured himself while playing for his club against Mbarara City in a UPL first-round fixture late last year, has confirmed to Ducor Sports he is fit and raring to go.

Ironically, the South Sudan skipper says the halting of the Ugandan Premier League (UPL) and all football activities by the Covid-19 pandemic has given him ample time to rehabilitate fully.

“The Covid-19 is actually like a blessing in disguise for me because I had undergone successful knee surgery. I was close to returning to the pitch before the pandemic hit the country, but the break has given me more time to recover,” Toha said.

Toha who joined Vipers from Onduparaka during last year’s long transfer window says he is looking forward to replicating the excellent form that got him signed by the Venoms.

“I’m ready now to play. I am looking forward to a good season. We have many competitions in the upcoming season and my main aim is to be in the best shape possible and do well.”

Vipers will be aiming at defending their league as well as reaching the group stages of the Africa Champions League.
