Vandenbroeck Lands New Job After Simba Sack

Sven Vandenbroeck has found his next club as a manager just two days after being sacked by Tanzania Premier League champions Simba Sports Club.

Sven Vandenbroeck has found his next club as a manager just two days after being sacked by Tanzania Premier League champions Simba Sports Club.

The 41-year-old trainer was awarded a two-year contract by Moroccan top-flight side FAR Rabat replacing Abderrahim Talib who was not offered a contract extension.

The Royal Army club confirmed the Belgian tactician arrival on Saturday afternoon in a short statement which read:

“Today we have officially announced the appointment of  Sven Vandenbroeck as the first team manager of Association Sportive des Forces Armées Royales Rabat.”

Talib was relieved his duties on Sunday despite their 3-1 post-match penalties win over Union Tourga Sport which steered the club to the quarter-finals of Moroccan Throne Cup.

Ducor Sports understands that FAS Rabat hierarchy were concerned about the dropping levels of motivation since the beginning of new Botola season and prompted to relieve Talib of his duties.

In a desperate attempt to reinvigorate the squad, Vandenbroek, who qualified Simba to the African Champions League group stages on Wednesday, will now lead the Moroccan side.

The well-travelled Belgian has stints in Tanzania, Zambia and Cameroon before assuming his role at the 12-time Botola league champions.
