Tunisian Football League: Club Africain Challenges Referee’s Controversial Offside Ruling

Club Africain is seeking to overturn a referee’s verdict which they believe denied them a legitimate goal with the side yet to win in two games after they were held to a goalless tie by Union Sportive Monastirienne at the Stade Mustapha Benjanet over the weekend.

30-year-old striker Oussama Darragi appeared to beat the offside trap to slot the ball past US Monastirienne’s net-minder but was flagged offside, a decision that had Club Africain’s substitutes’ bench in a momentary tantrum.

And, in a desperate search to get their campaign off to a flying start, the club’s hierarchy, Ducor Sports understands, has appealed to the Tunisian review committee seeking for the referee’s decision to be quashed.

At press time on Monday night, the Red and Whites were yet to get a reply from the FA.
