Tunisia Renew Pursuit of Khedira

Tunisia have come calling for Rani Khedira’s services after being rejected previously by the player.

The 25-year-old, plying his trade with Bundesliga’s Augsburg, has been on the Tunisia FA’s radar who want the center-back to commit his international future to them.

Their efforts to coax him into agreeing for his inclusion in the North African nation’s World Cup squad last year were met with rejection.

However, gaffer Alain Giresse is optimistic of securing the stopper along with other players of Tunisian descent as he readies up for a friendly against Algeria before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

“Of course, if there are players of Tunisian descent that can be included, we will ask them, after all, it is up to them to decide,” he said, adding, “We have Khedira’s brother we want to bring him. Sami, his brother, is a world champion.’

Rani, a sibling to Juventus’ Sami Khedira, is yet to feature for Germany’s senior team despite representing the former World champions at junior categories.
