Five-time African champions TP Mazembe have confirmed defender Joseph Ochaya has extended his contract for another two years.

Ochaya’s contract had expired in June following on and off negotiations but the two parties have now agreed on a two-year deal.

The Ravens confirmed on their official website the decision to extend former KCCA FC’s player stay in Lubumbashi.

“We are pleased to announce the extension of Joseph Benson Ochaya’s contract for two more seasons, until September 2022,” the club said as translated from French.

“We are delighted because the two parties reached a quick agreement and we are happy he will now be with us for two more seasons.”

The 26-year-old Uganda international left-back joined the Democratic Republic of Congo giants in October, 2018 on a free transfer after parting ways with Zambian Super League side Lusaka Dynamos.

The defender also has previous stints with Vietnamese outfit Navibank Sai Gon FC and Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko.

Ochaya is expected to be part of Uganda Cranes squad that will face South Sudan in the upcoming qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
