Tanzanian Giants Simba Sack Coach Da Rosa

Simba Sports Club have sacked their coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa following the club recent elimination from round 32 of the CAF African Champions league.

The Tanzanian giants were eliminated  after suffering a shocking 3-1 loss to Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana  in a return leg battle at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday.

Da Rosa had only been appointed in January, after the sacking of previous coach Sven Vandenbroeck.

Vandenbroeck resigned a day after leading the Msimbazi club to the group stage of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League in early January.

Da Rosa, who was successful in the competition while at Horoya , was expressly appointed because of his former success.

The assistant coach Thierry Hitimana has been appointed as a care taker coach while Seleman Matola will deputize the Rwandese gaffer.

“We decided to sack coach Dider Gomes Da Rosa, goalkeeping coach Milton Nienov and the Fitness coach Adel Zrane ,” club Chief Executive Officer Barbara Gonzalez told reporters.

Simba have an intense schedule over the rest of the domestic season because of their continental and regional involvement.

They have played only two matches in the Tanzanian Premier League – that is three fewer than some teams – and lie in ninth place, five points behind their great local rivals Yanga, who are joint top with Polisi Tanzania.
