Nigeria attacker Victor Osimhen is out of Sierra Leone return fixture after dislocating his shoulder, Ducor Sports reports.

The Napoli forward sustained the injury during the Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the same opponent played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Super Eagles were held to 4-4 with Osimhen scoring the second goal in the draw against the Leone Stars.

He was stretchered off 15 minutes from time after colliding with one of Sierra Leone defenders and was replaced by Paul Onuachu.

Reports indicate that the former Lille man is likely to be flown to Italy where he will receive treatment, with his recovery expected to take four weeks.

Osimhen was one of the late arrivals in the Super Eagles camp after word went around that his club Napoli had failed to release him for the qualifiers.

Napoli would not have been sanctioned had they stopped the striker from international duty going by FIFA ruling that clubs are not obliged to release their players for international games because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Super Eagles are scheduled to meet Leone Stars next week Tuesday at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown.

Nigeria are on the top of the log with seven points and winning the return fixture against Sierra Leone will all but guarantee qualification to 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
