Mamelodi Sundowns continue to show no signs of slowing down after edging out Highlands Park 2-1 on Tuesday, January 22, 2018,  to continue their unbeaten streak.

The Brazilians have so far won eight and draw seven out of their 15 league games, maintaining them in the 3rd position on the league table with three outstanding games to be played.

Morena led the way for the Brazilians with the opener in the 11th minute, before Zwane doubled the lead eight minutes later to put his side in a comfortable position.

The Brazilians quest to maintain a clean sheet in the first half did not materialize after Mbatha scored a consolation for Highlands Park in the 30th minute.

After going for the halftime break with one goal lead, both teams could not register a goal in the remaining 45 minutes, giving the Brazilians all three points.

Despite a few days of rest after their 2-1 win over Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Champions League on Saturday, January 19, Sundowns were strong enough to secure the victory, a performance that Coach Pitso Mosimane expressed satisfaction over.

“I told you before the match how they going to come out. They are stronger and quicker and more aggressive. They had about 15 days’ rest, we just played two days ago. Thank God we scored early and we said we must wrap it up as early as possible because we won’t match them in the second period,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.
