They have also asked the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Abdullahi Biffo, coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Katsina United, has been reunited with his family after being in captivity for more than two weeks.

The relieved Biffo family confirmed his return through his brother Audu, hours after he was released.

“The Biffo family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who has walked this journey with them and provided physical, emotional and spiritual support. It is truly appreciated,” Audu said in an interview.

They have also asked the public to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Police spokesperson SP Gambo Isah could not confirm Biffo’s release as an investigation into the “finer aspects” of the case is underway.

Abdullahi Biffo was kidnapped 16-days ago and his abductors were reported to have made a demand of N15 million ransom.

He was abducted on 7th January at about 9 pm during a botched attempted kidnap of Justice Mamman Nasir along Gora – Dayi road, in Malumfashi Local Government Area.

Abdullahi Biffo is one of the respected coaches in Nigeria, considering how he helped Giwa FC and Niger Tornadoes gain promotion to the Professional Football League.

After leaving Abia Warriors, Biffo joined Katsina United last season and steered the club to the semi-finals of the 2018 Aiteo Cup.
