South Africa Qualify for Women’s World Cup Berth

South Africa have earned a place in the World Cup berth having seen off Mali in the semis of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

A 2-0 lead against Mali did the magic with forwards Thembi Kgatlana and Lebohang Ramalepe the architects.

Thembi broke the deadlock in the 31^st minute in what was her fifth goal of the tournament before Ramalepe rounded off matters with eight minutes left on the clock

Saturday’s victory set up a thrilling meeting for South Africa with Nigeria in the Wafcon final who shoved aside Cameroon on post-game penalties following a goalless affair in regular time.

Nigeria will be making its eighth appearance in the World Cup next year in France.
