Sofapaka Sign Burundian Defender David Nshimirimana

Kenyan top-fight outfit Sofapaka has confirmed the signing of Burundian defender David Nshimirimana from Zambian Super League side Buildcon.

Kenyan top-fight outfit Sofapaka has confirmed the signing of Burundian defender David Nshimirimana from Zambian Super League side Buildcon.

After an unimpressive start to the new FKF Premier League campaign, the Batoto Ba Mungu have now bolstered their midfield with the arrival of a highly experienced talent from southern Africa.

The 28-year-old holds 30 caps for the Burundi national team and was part of the Swallows squad that participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The move had long been sassed out, with Nshimirimana having also been spotted in attendance at one of Batoto Ba Mungu’s recent games prior to his official signing.

“Sofapaka Football Cub has completed the signing of Burundian international David Nshimirimana. The defender joins Batoto Ba Mungu on a two year contract from Zambian Super League side Buildcon Football Club,” the club statement read.

Nshimirimana has previously played for Rwanda football giants Mukura Victory and Vital O’ in his native Burundi.

Other players that have joined Sofapaka in the current transfer widow include midfielder Joseph Irungu Waithera who signed a two-year contract after ditching Wazito FC.

The 2009 Kenyan Premier league champions have also acquired the services of enterprising Harambee Stars forward Timothy Otieno from Zambian top flight outfit Napsa.
