Kenya’s Mulee Names 25-man Provisional Squad for Egypt, Togo Qualifiers

Kenya national team head coach Jacob “Ghost” Mulee has named a squad for local-based players for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt and Togo

Kenya national team head coach Jacob “Ghost” Mulee has named a squad for local-based players for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt and Togo.

Mulee’s boys face Egypt on March 22, 2020 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani and Togo on March 30, 2020 at the Stade de Kegue in Lome.

Among those who have been given a chance to prove their worth is goalkeeper Brian Bwire of Kariobangi Sharks and Wazito’s Peter Odhiambo who will be competing for the number one spot with foreign-based legion.

Influential AFC Leopards forward Elvis Rupia has also been handed a call up as has KCB’s defender Reagan Otieno.

Other notable inclusions in the team include Nairobi City Stars midfielder Oliver Maloba, KCB’s Nahashon Alembi and AFC Leopards’ midfielder Collins Shichenje.

Kevin Kimani makes a return to the national team, so does Bandari’s Abdalla Hassan. Others who have been given a chance in midfield include Kariobangi Sharks’ James Mazembe and KCB’s Micheal Mutinda.

Local-based players will report to camp on March 7 with the foreign-based players expected to report on March 18. Only 20 players will be included in the final squad to play Egypt and Togo.
