Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka FC have signed a renewed and improved two-year deal with shirt sponsors Betika.

The new deal will see the club get Kenya Shillings Sh 38.5 million (USD 355,000) per season, which translates to 10 percent increase from the previous deal.

In the new deal, all major club expenses and salaries, including that of the coach and the rest of the technical bench, will be catered for by Betika.

“We are glad to have our partnership with Betika continue to grow. We are delighted to have the firm once again come to our aid during these uncertain times. We hope this will go a long way in motivating the players to effectively deliver on the pitch,” said the club President Elly Kalekwa.

On his side, Betika’s head of business, John Mbatia, expressed his satisfaction on the club’s progress adding they will continue to support the club to nurture talents.

“Betika vowed to continuously support players all over the country especially those from informal settlements and since we have had a great relationship with Sofapaka and seen the impact the team has had on the youth, it is only right that we continue supporting them wherever possible,” said Mbatia.

The sponsorship deal with Betika has removed a huge burden off Sofapaka who were hitherto severally faced by financial difficulties.

They have been able to pay players on time, while Betika have benefited hugely from the publicity there off.
