South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that Thapelo Morena and Gaston Sirino will stay at the club after they renewed their contracts.

Morena, who is approaching a full return to fitness after suffering a fracture and ligament damage, joined the Brazilians from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2016.

He will now stay in Mzansi until June 2025 together with Sirino as Sundowns show strong intent in their future plans.

“Mamelodi Sundowns is pleased to announce that Thapelo Morena and Gaston Sirino have put pen to paper and signed contract extensions with the Brazilians. This will see Thapelo and Gaston in the Brazilian yellow until 2025,” read a statement on Downs’ website.

Influential Uruguayan Gaston Sirino expressed his happiness for extending his stay with Bafana baStyle, stating that he is ready to bag more silverware at the club.

“I am happy to extend my contract at the club, my family and I are happy and settled here in Mzansi so that gives me comfort to push hard on the pitch,” Sirino said.

“I believe my best years are ahead of me and I am confident we will add trophies with this group of players.”

Meanwhile, Morena has reacted upon signing the deal stating that he is excited to get back on the pitch.

“Masandawana I am happy and excited to let you know that I have extended my contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, we still have a long way to go and many more trophies to win! Ka Bo Yellow!”
