Rohr extended his stay in the West African nation till 2022 after he agreed to a pay cut and stay in the country.

The German gaffer revealed his target saying that he is ready to guide the country to a fourth Africa Cup of Nations triumph.

“This is a special job because this is my team, I built it with my staff,” the former Niger and Gabon coach said Monday on local television.

“It’s a very young team, but the mission is not finished yet, so we want to continue. Let’s qualify for (the Nations Cup) and then we want to win it,” he added.

The 66-year-old  was first appointed Super Eagles coach in August 2016 in a three years contract after Sunday Oliseh was sacked by the NFF.

He won his first game in charge of the Nigerian national team with a 1 – 0 win over Tanzania in Uyo, Akwa Ibo State Nigeria.

On 7 October 2017, he led Nigeria to become the first African side to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after a 1–0 win against Zambia. On 17 July 2019, Rohr led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
