Mark Harrison has been temporarily suspended from his role as coach of Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League giants Highlanders.

A statement on the Highlanders twitter handle says the Bulawayo giants have agreed to temporarily suspend the manager’s contract until the two parties are certain when the league will resume.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “Highlanders FC and technical manager Mark Harrison have agreed to temporarily suspend Harrison’s contract until both parties are certain when the league will resume.   [/perfectpullquote]

“Harrison will return to the United Kingdom, and will come back when the situation normalizes.”

The 59-year-old coach took up the post in January replacing Hendrikus Pieter De Jongh tendering his resignation ahead of his move to FC Platinum.

The Briton only took charge of one match, the Castle Challenge Cup, which Bosso lost 2-0 to league champions FC Platinum.

Highlanders are currently in a financial crisis after their main sponsors NetOne failed to renew their funding for the 2020 season.

The start of 2020 Premier Soccer League season has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic and it is not yet clear when football action will resume in the country.
