Senegal’s Basketball Captain Launches Stinging Attack on Federation

Senegal’s national team basketball skipper Maurice Ndour has torn into the West African nation’s federation.

Senegal’s national team basketball skipper Maurice Ndour has torn into the West African nation’s federation.

The 27-year-old power forward ripped into Senegalese authorities alleging disregard of the Lions’ basketball squad.

Citing numerous instances in an explosive rant on Instagram, the Thies-born did not hold back.

First, he began questioning the provision of only a single FIBA ball for the side’s training, the non-payment of players wages and others.

“How can a national team prepare with a single official FIBA basketball? How can a national team get fired from their hotel rooms during a reunion? How can a national team prepare for and to train when they cannot even have a functional and free field?”

The Senegalese basketball governing body have had a recent disagreement with squad members leading to a severe fallout.

And Maurice feels the team is being crucified for speaking up.
“We were ridiculed, criticized scrutinized to the point where we were wondering who we really are. Then, I remember what they did to Christ: He was nailed to a cross and crucified. Now that we are sincere and we want to tell the truth about everything, I wonder if they will do the same thing to us. Because, when the truth hits painfully, it is at that moment that you will know if you are really what you claim to be,” he said.
