Senegalese FA Condemns Monkey Chants Towards Koulibaly

The FA in Senegal has leaped to defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s defense, slamming the recent racist chants made towards the Taranga Lions’ center-back.

The FA in Senegal has leaped to defender Kalidou Koulibaly’s defense, slamming the recent racist chants made towards the Taranga Lions’ center-back.

The in-demand defender was subjected to monkey chants by Inter Milan’s hardcore supporters in the Nerazzuri’s slim 1-0 win over Napoli on Boxing Day.

The build-up to the controversy-packed Wednesday’s encounter was marred by crowd trouble in which a fan died after being run over by fans reported to be Napoli’s before the unfortunate on-the-pitch issue with Kalidou.

Reacting to the incident, the Senegalese FA urged for appropriate measures to be taken and for a ban to be imposed on culprits.

Following the racist remarks that hit the player Kalidou Koulibaly during the Inter Milan match against Naples on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) noted the shocking facts:

– Denounces and condemns in the strongest terms these acts committed against him;

– Demonstrates to Koulibaly solidarity and support; expects from the Italian Football Federation and the international football authorities appropriate measures to ban such acts and behavior in all football stadiums.”

The Manchester United transfer target took to his social media handle to write a defiant message.

“I am proud of the color of my skin. Proud to be French, Senegalese, Neapolitan: a man,” he wrote.

In the latest development, Inter are due to play two games behind closed doors following the ugly scene that has had the Italian FA contemplating suspending the league.
