Reports from Kigali say that the country’s football association have indicated that the Senegal Football Federation (FSF) is in talks with the Central African country for an Cameroon 2021 African Nations Cup warm up match to hold in Kigali next month.

A report by New Times indicate that the FSF offered Ferwafa a friendly match in Kigali, adding that talks are on-going between Ferwafa secretary general, David Iraguha and FSF officials.

Senegal, who are the 2019 runners-up, are pitted in Group B and they will be aiming to win their first continental title after missing it narrowly in last edition.

The Lions of Teranga are Africa’s top ranked side and have chosen to camp in Rwanda alongside Gabon, who are also in talks to play friendly against Amavubi.

“The two teams had asked to hold training camps in Rwanda but have now asked for friendly matches. We will evaluate whether that is possible,” Iraguha told New Times.

Senegal were paired with Zimbabwe, Guinea and Malawi in Group B and will be based in the city of Bafoussam.

The Lions of Teranga were initially rumoured to have picked Central African Republic for their groundwork ahead of the tournament.
