The Taranga Lions had been scheduled to face Guinea-Bissau in a doubled-legged affair.

However, the matches were put off by the Confederation of African Football over what was then an epidemic fast morphing into a pandemic.

Football boss Augustin Senghore revealed this in a recent interview.

“We had actually started the preparations but, for the most part, it was the investments that we made on the stadium (Lat-Dior) which were quite significant and which were of the order of 10 to 15 million,” he said.
