Senegal Coach: “Ghana is a Strong Team but We’re Here to Win the Trophy”

Seign Salliou Dia reckons Ghana maybe a solid side but insists his Senegal outfit have only the trophy in mind.

The Lions of Taranga, who are hosts of the West African Football Union Nations Cup, beat Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast to seal a ticket to the last stage.

The tie is a renewal of the rivalry between the pair after their last meeting in 2013 in which the Lions ended up biting the dust.

And ahead of Sunday’s Championship final, Senegal’s Serign Salliou Dai remains buoyant.

“It’s often said that in a final, it is the players who win.

“You have to play it thoroughly, be mentally and psychologically ready. Ghana is a very good team, but our ambition is to win this cup and we have the ability,” he said.
