Senegal Basketball Federation Sack Coach Sarr after Dismal Outing

Chiekh Sarr has ceased been Senegal’s national team basketball coach following his axing today.

Occupying the coaching void since February last year, it’s the gaffer’s second stint in the role with the first also ending in a sacking.

He was tasked to secure the winners’ medal of the African championship but his charges failed to rise to the occasion despite the tournament being held in their backyard.

Mozambique also eliminated his team in the pre-Olympics qualifiers.

And having seen he has been unable to attain the setout objective cut out for him, the Dakar sport governing body opted to relieve him of his services with immediate effect.

Sarr is yet to comment on the move which analyst say came as no surprise.
