Sebeta City Pip Bahir Dar As Dire Dawa Hold Hadiya Hossana

Sebeta City picked their sixth win of the season with a hard fought 2-1 win over Bahir Dar Kenema at Dire Dawa Stadium on Monday.

Bahir Dar took a surprise lead in the 44th minute through defender Hailemichael Aderfes who headed the ball into his own goal as Fasil Tekalegn charges headed to the break leading the tie.

A well taken penalty by Fitsum Gebre Mariam and a strike from Duresa Shubisa in the second half, however, overturned the tie in Sebeta favor.

In the second match of the Ethiopian Premier League on Monday, Hadiya Hossana were held to a 0-0 draw by Dire Dawa Kenema.

The game, which looked largely balanced, ended without a goal in the first half and even the few chances in the other half did not yield anything meaningful.

Hossana were unable to create clear cut chances, which emboldened Dire Dawa in the second stanza.

The four minutes added were not enough to help any team get a goal as the sides shared a point from the stalemate.
