Samatta: Tanzania Going for Victory Against Kenya

Tanzania national team captain Mbwana Samatta says his side will be going for victory against Kenya when the two teams face off in an African Cup of Nations Group C match.

Tanzania national team captain Mbwana Samatta says his side will be going for victory against Kenya when the two teams face off in an African Cup of Nations Group C match at Air Defence Stadium in Cairo.

The two teams will be keen on getting maximum points from the match having lost the opening match to Senegal and Algeria respectively last Sunday at Air Defence Stadium.

A win for either team will revive their chances of getting out of the group and it will be a do or die for coaches Emmanuel Amunike and Sebastien Migne.

Speaking ahead of the match, Samatta, who was largely off-colour against Senegal, said everyone is looking forward to the game and that they would be going for maximum points against their East African rivals on Thursday evening.

” We’ve all been looking forward to this game for weeks. The streets in Tanzania will be empty. Everyone will be watching us. A victory, of course. We can do that. Amunike (Emmanuel) will give us some tips and we will beat them,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kenya will once again be without key defender Joash Onyango who picked an ankle injury in training and missed the game against Algeria.
