Rwanda Premier League Club in Search of a New Coach

The search for a new coach is ongoing for one of the Rwanda Premier League clubs that recently parted ways with their mentor.

The search for a new coach is ongoing for one of the Rwanda Premier League clubs that recently parted ways with their mentor.

Following a string of poor results in recent matches, Mukura Victory relieved Frenchman Djilali Bahloul of his coaching duties at the club last month.

The former Marseille forward joined the Kigali outfit from Oman side Sohar Sporting Club and has previous experience of coaching in Africa especially in Senegal and Ivory Coast.

But he was relieved his duties after losing three of the opening games in the recently-suspended Rwanda Premier League.

And now, the indication from sources is that the club is seeking a replacement outside the borders of Rwanda.

“The search for a new coach for Mukura Victory is in progress. The club is looking for their man from outside of the country. The club is likely to appoint a foreign coach again if they succeed in their search,” said the source.

Bahloul had replaced Tony Hernandez who resigned from his position in September after one season with the 2018 Peace Cup winners.

Mukura finished in the fourth position last season behind 18-time champions APR, Rayon Sports and Police FC.

They are currently at the bottom of the sixteen team league table having accumulated only one point that they attained when they held Sunrise FC to a goalless in December.
