Rwanda Planning Three Friendlies Before Mozambique Clash

Rwanda will play three international friendlies before their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique in June.

The games will be the first competitive outings for newly appointed Spanish head coach, Carlos Alos, with Rwanda set to return to AFCON for the first time in nineteen years.

According to sources at Rwandan FA, one of the counties approached is Sudan but did not give a clear indication whether the North African country have accepted the request.

The technical team of the Amavubi is impressing on the Rwanda FA to get those deals sealed in two weeks time.

Alos was appointed as Rwanda national team head coach in March replacing Vincent Mashami whose contract was terminated in February.

The 47-year old coach has experience in football, previously  having been the technical Director of FC Barcelona as well as head coach for different professional clubs in Europe and Africa (AS FAR Rabat in Botola Pro League as well as Enosis in Cyprus.

Rwanda were drawn in Group L alongside Senegal, Benin and Mozambique before the qualifiers kick-off later this month.
