The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named the match officials that will oversee the African Champions League tie between Al Hilal and Vipers SC at the Omdurman Stadium on Sunday 29 September.

Burundian referee Thierry Nkurunzinza will take charge of the second-leg in Sudan, in his first continental game since the controversial match between Esperance du Tunis and Orlando Pirates two seasons ago.

He will be assisted by fellow compatriot Herve Kakunze who will act as the first assistant referee, Gustave Baguma as second Assistant Referee) and Georges Gatogato who will be the fourth official. Sebit Librato Begi Rassas from South Sudan will serve as the match commissioner.

Al  Hilal will be looking to bundle out the Ugandan champions whom they beat  1-0 in the first leg played last Saturday in Kampala. Bakhiet Hamid netted the lone goal midway through the first half.

Vipers are expected to fly out on Thursday and coach Fred Kajoba is optimistic that the team will perform better in the return leg.

“It is disappointing that we couldn’t get the result we wanted,” Kajoba said as quoted by the club’s official website. “We shall go back and reflect on where we didn’t do well.

“We still have the return leg next week and there’s a chance we can go there and look for a better result.”

The aggregate winners will advance to face either Ghana’s Asante Kotoko or Nouadhibou of Mauritania in the first round.
