Real Betis are set to make an offer for Bertrand Traore after positive response of initial enquiries with the player himself, Ducor Sports can reveal.

Traore has recently been reported to have attracted the interest of the so-called big teams, and Betis want to make an offer quickly to avoid a bidding war.

That seems unlikely though as interests from English Premier League clubs are already in the race for the Bernina Faso international winger, who is currently on the books of Ligue 1 side, Olympique Lyonnais.

Interests from Newcastle and Everton are making the war almost a sure thing for the 24-year-old attacker, with various reports indicating that he is no longer happy in the Rhône.

As with all the recent transfer rumours, the issue is Betis’ inability to pay a major fee as pundits have projected that the club is going to have financial restrictions this summer due to the global pandemic.

Maybe Betis could sweeten the deal by offering a midfielder in return but again they don’t exactly have a plethora of enticing options to sell.

If Betis could bring him in, then Traore would make a strong addition as a left-footed attacker could form a good partnership with many of the club’s existing midfielders.

Traore, who still has a contract running until 2022, joined Lyon from Chelsea for €10 million in 2017 following a strong season on loan at Ajax.

At Lyon, he mainly convinced in his first season, when he scored 18 goals and assisted a further seven in 43 games in all competitions.

Last season, he lost his spot as a regular starter for spells, netting only four goals and five assists in 33 competitive appearances.
