Pyramids Winger Ramadhan Sobhi Ruled Out For Two Weeks

Pyramids and Egypt winger Ramadhan Sobhi is expected to be out of action for two weeks with a knee injury, Ducor Sports can reveal.

Sobhi suffered the problem during Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup clash with Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien and his club confirmed he faces a short spell on the sidelines.

“Scans revealed that Sobhi is suffering from a bruise in his right knee. He needs a rehabilitation program that will last two weeks,” the club said in a statement.

The injury rules out Sobhi out of next Sunday’s  CAF Confederation Cup match against Al Ahly Tripoli, plus the Egyptian Cup encounter against La Viena.

The 25-year-old als remains doubtful for Egypt’s World Cup playoffs against Senegal on 25 March at home and 29 March in Dakar due to his injury.

Pyramids were held to a 1-1 draw by Sfaxien on Sunday, which was enough for the Egyptians to keep their unbeaten record in the competition.

The stalemate validated their ticket to the quarterfinals, following Al Ahli Tripoli’s 3-2 away win against Zambian side Zanaco FC.

Sobhi played a key role to the Pyramids qualification to the last eight of the CAF Confedaration Cup competition.

He is one of Pyramids experienced players having previously featured in English Premier League for Stoke City and Huddersfield.

He joined Pyramids on a permanent deal in September 2020 for undisclosed fee following an end of unsuccessful  loan spell at Al Ahly.
