Franck Kessie: Barcelona Reach Agreement To Sign AC Milan Midfielder

Barcelona have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports.

The 25-year-old , who moved to Italy seven years ago, will join the Spanish giants on a free transfer once his contract ends with the Italian giants on June 30.

Kessie’s  expected salary at Barcelona is set to be €4m net, but he could earn €2.5m more based on bonuses.

The Ivorian international recently snubbed a whopping  €6.5million (£5.5m) a year offer from Milan to renew his contract, and insisted for a figure around €9m (£7.7m).

Kessie’s current market value sits at around 40 million euros, which would be a sizeable reinforcement to Barcelona’s midfield.

Previously, the star midfielder was on the radar of English Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal in December, but both clubs have since dropped their chase.

Another EPL side, Chelsea, reportedly wanted him as a future replacement for their star N’Golo Kante.

Kessie’s move to Spain marks an end to his Italian career that started with two fine seasons at Cesena and Atalanta, before he was  bought by AC Milan in 2017.

The midfielder is set to become Barcelona’s second transfer for the upcoming 2022/2023 season after they allegedly secured Chelsea center back Andreas Chistensen too.
