KCCA FC striker John Odemwegu faces accusations of unlawful confinement of three women after being arrested in Kampala on Monday.

A spokesperson of Uganda Police told Ducor Sports that the arrest had been made after an official complaint by alleged victims of the incident that happened over the weekend.

The 25-year-old footballer had admitted to having held three women for over ten hours inside his house located in Mutungo, Nakawa Division, in Kampala.

“For 10 hours, the three women found themselves in a vulnerable position where anything could have happened to them. We managed to arrest Odemwegu who claims that he feared to release the ladies late at around 9 pm,” the police spokesperson said.

Late on Monday, KCCA are understood to have opened disciplinary proceedings against the player to investigate what had happened.

The Nigerian forward joined the Uganda Premier League defending champions at the beginning of 2019/2020 season from NPFL side Rivers United.

He came in as a direct replacement of Patrick Henry Kaddu who left KCCA FC for Moroccan outfit RS Berkane but has not found a way of playing often.
