Pitso Mosimane Disappointed After Loss To Baroka

Pitso Mosimane has expressed his frustration that Mamelodi Sundowns were not at their best when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Baroka on Sunday evening.

Pitso Mosimane has expressed his frustration that Mamelodi Sundowns were not at their best when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at Baroka on Sunday evening.

A superb header from Namibian midfielder Ananias Gebhardt in the 20th minute gave struggling Baroka a priceless Absa Premiership lifeline after their win against the Brazilians to climb out of the drop zone with two matches to play.

The loss saw Sundowns lose ground in their bid to overtake table-leaders Kaizer Chiefs who also lost their Sunday match on the same margin to Bidvest Wits.

In a post-match interview, Mosimane rued his game plan that affected his charges ability to score.

“A Baroka player disrespected [Motjeka] Madisha, which was not good and most especially the players on the bench, who was sitting there. You know, you are disrespecting somebody who was playing while you are sitting in the cold there in the stands,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.

“I don’t think it’s good, it’s bad. It’s not a good thing to do. But it’s OK, it’s part of football, we don’t have to focus more on that. That is not what made us not to score. We didn’t score because when we got the opportunities to score, we did not. We got the opportunities.”

Mosimane was also disappointed with Baroka goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini whom he accused of time wastage tactics.

“Ja, but this one was a different one. They have got [regular keeper] Elvis Chipezeze, who was a master of sitting, of killing the game. This one I don’t know his name, I think Baroka they breed them hey.

“They breed these ones who don’t allow the play to go. But it’s OK, they have to do what they have to do to survive. It’s not what made us lose.

“What made us lose is not marking in the box. But we keep going, this thing has a heartbeat. It’s still going. We’ll see how it goes.”
