Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Not for Sale

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that the club will not receive any offers for Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 28-year-old was reportedly available for around €70 million but Zorc guaranteed that Aubameyang is no longer for sale after watching his amazing display in Dortmund’s 3-1 win over AC Milan.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]”We have decided that ‘Auba’ will stay with Borussia Dortmund. The transfer window is closed as far as he is concerned.[/perfectpullquote]

“We consider the transfer window closed for him because we otherwise would have run out of time [to find replacements].”

Aubameyang who scored an impressive 31 goals out of 32 Bundesliga games last season, was linked with big-money moves to Real Madrid, Chelsea, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks but a move seems more unlikely than ever.

Asked if they could be tempted by a big-money deal, Zorc replied, “The deadline is over. No [the club wouldn’t consider a mega offer], we are going to plan with him for the new season and our intentions are the same.”

Aubameyang started where he left off last season netting twice as Dortmund beat AC Milan while astonishing Dortmund’s new coach, Peter Bosz.

“I am glad that he is in my team,” Bosz told reporters after the game.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“He is an extraordinary player and he has shown that once more against Milan. He’s a great bloke and a great footballer.[/perfectpullquote]

“Obviously he’s a fantastic player and I’m happy that he’s in our squad. I’ll only think about the problem if he isn’t there. But he’s here, so there is no problem.

“That’s modern football in these times, but there’s no news.”
