Otu: Wazito To Release Liberian Striker

Kenyan Premier League side Wazito FC is set to release Liberian forward Augustine Otu, according to reports.

Kenyan Premier League side Wazito FC is set to release Liberian forward Augustine Otu, according to reports.

Otu joined the Kenyan moneybags in January from LPRC Oilers but struggled in his first months before cementing his position in the team.

The Liberian signed a one-year-deal and a termination of his contract maybe be done on agreement by both parties with the striker being linked with a move to Sweden.

The former LPRC Oilers attacker was reportedly one of the highest-earning players in the Kenya Premier League.

Apart from Otu, it has been reported that foreign trio of Piscas Kirenge, Issifou Bourahana and Paul Acquah, who joined the team at the start of last season, are also set to be released.

Local players set to exit the club include former Tusker winger Victor Ndinya, Harambee Stars trialist Teddy Osok, former Sony Sugar striker Derrick Otanga and the long-serving goalkeeper Steven Njung’e.

Meanwhile, Wazito have confirmed that they have parted ways with Coach Stewart Hall after eight months with the club.

The British tactician took charge of the team in November 2019 and has left the club citing that he needed to spend more time with his family in the UK.

Hall becomes the fifth coach to leave the hot seat at the club this season after Stanley Okumbi, Fred Ouna, Hamisi Abdalla, Melis Medo.

Wazito were lying 13th on the Kenyan Premier League log before the championship was called off due to coronavirus pandemic.
