There are no African teams remaining in the U-17 World Cup in Brazil following the elimination of Senegal.

The West African Junior Lions of Taranga got swaggered over by an enterprising Spain side in what was a hard-fought affair with the Europeans advancing on a 2-1 score.

Robert Novarro of Real Sociedad opened the scoring in the 27th minute before Atletico Madrid’s 16-year-old starlet German Valera doubled the advantage, reducing Souleymane Faye’s goal for Senegal to a mere consolation.

Nigeria also got whipped by the Netherlands 3-1 followed by Angola while Cameroon made an early exit.
