Nigeria’s Ike Iroegbu Joins Los Angeles Clippers

 

After making his debut for Nigeria in the 2017 Afro Basketball Championship, Nigerian International basketball player Ike Iroegbu has joined the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA.

The 22-year old international guard was on Friday included on the roster of the Clippers after he inked a deal with LA’s G-League club in Ontario, the Agua Caliente Clippers.

Prior to his latest move, Iroegbu played for the Washington State University where he recorded 12.6 points, 4.2, rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in 31 games of last season.  He has played there for the last four years. In 31 games, he recorded 12.6ppg, 4.2rpg, and 3.6apg

 

 

Iroegbu, a recent graduate of the Washington State University, was outstanding during the 2017 FIBA Afro basketball tournament co-hosted by Senegal and Tunisia and was named to the All-Tournament Team after he scored 14.5 ppg, 5apg, and 4.5rpg, leading Nigeria to a third-place finish.

The 22-year-old Nigerian has already been given an opportunity to showcase his ability after he was called up by his new club to feature in a pre-season match against Los Angeles Lakers. He managed to send in 3 of 9 shots for seven points, grasping five rebounds and dishing out one assist.

The Agua Caliente Clippers will open their inaugural season on Nov. 3 at home against the Santa Cruz Warriors.
