Ngezi Platinum Downs Dynamos to Top Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League

Ngezi Platinum have gone on top of the standings in the Zimbabwe’s Premier Soccer League. The Baobab Stadium-based outfit gatecrashed the table top after downing Dynamos.

Two unanswered goals proved enough to wreak havoc on third-placed Dynamos in-game thirty of the top flight. The victory – Ngezi’s 18th – puts them joint top with arch-rivals F.C. Platinum on sixty points each.

The race for the league’s staked prize is a close one with four teams in the running for it.

Elsewhere, Harare City drew F.C. Platinum on a goalless score while Chapungu United made a light work of Bulawayo City, beating them 3-1.

How Mine is in a decent position after easing past Yadah 1-0 on Saturday.

There were just two wins registered in the five matches played on Sunday.

Highlanders spanked Black Rhinos 2-0 with Tsholoto also laboring past Bantu Rovers 2-1.

The draw results in the other games featured Kariba and Chicken Inn (0-0) as well as Shabanie Mine and Triangle United (1-1).

CAPS United was also held by Hwange.

Four clubs are in a relegation dogfight with Bantu Rovers, the only side with the fewest points, sitting bottom of the table.
