New Zamalek Coach Jesualdo Ferreira Reacts To Appointment

After he was finally announced as the new incoming Zamalek boss, Jesualdo Ferreira has expressed his delight at taking the White Knights.

Zamalek on Friday officially confirmed that Jesualdo Ferreira will be the new club head coach, confirming what has been assumed after the sacking of Patrice Carteron.

Ferreira posted a message on his Instagram page after his appointment saying that he wants to ensure that the fans are happy by winning.

“Thanks for the many messages and the kind words that the Zamalek fans dedicated to me. I return with pleasure and great ambition. See you soon.” he wrote in an Instagram post.

The 75-year-old is making a return to the White Knights seven years after guiding the team  to the domestic double (Egyptian Premier League and Egyptian Cup).

His appointment comes as no surprise, with many taking it as granted for the one week or so.

Ferreira is evidently delighted by the next chapter in his managerial career but he has a mammoth task on his hands. This Zamalek squad is in dire need of a rebuild hence Ferreira needs as much time as possible to work on it.

The Portuguese gaffer signed one-and-a-half year contract with Zamalek and will be joined by three Portuguese assistants.

He rejoins the Cairo giants after stints with Qatari side Al Sadd, Brazilian outfit Santos, Primeira Liga side Boavista and most recently Os Axadrezados.
