Namibia Captain Fredericks Rallies Troops Against Madagascar

Namibia national team captain Dynamo Fredericks has said that the Brave Warriors are ready for their 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) final round second leg qualifier against Madagascar.

Namibia national team captain Dynamo Fredericks has said that the Brave Warriors are ready for their 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) final round second leg qualifier against Madagascar.

The first leg fixture ended 1-0 in favour of Barea and are expected to be under immense pressure to overturn that result going into Saturday’s crunch match set to be played at Sam Nujoma Stadium.

In an interview with Ducor Sports, Fredericks disclosed that his team will cope with the huge expectations.

“Physically, we are prepared, and the spirit in the team is very high. I think the nation can expect a positive result,” said Fredericks.

Most of the players in Namibian team have not been playing competitive football as the local league has not yet resumed, but basing on the last show, Fredericks is optimistic of making it to Cameroon.

“We gave them a good run for their money. We created a lot of chances; they only created one chance, and they put it away. We were the better team, but we did not take our chances as we could have won the game,” Fredericks recalled.

“This time, we must have some composure in front of goal, and when we have the chance, we must finish it off.”

Bullish Namibia will head into the match buoyed by a new winning mentality that has filtered through their veins in the wake of back-to-back wins over Hardap and Karas regional teams in warm-up games.

Next year’s CHAN tournament will be the sixth edition of the biennial football competition, which is organised by CAF and it exclusively features players playing in their respective domestic leagues.
