Musa Kamara Suspended By Sierra Leone FA for Disciplinary Reasons

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has suspended national team striker Musa Noah Kamara from playing in the next two international matches.

Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has suspended national team striker Musa Noah Kamara from playing in the next two international matches.

According to the federation, the 19-year-old was pictured playing for a non-division side hours after requesting to be excluded from the Leone Stars residential camp, citing that his uncle had passed away.

“Kamara has been suspended because he lied to the Leone Stars technical team,” the SLFA spokesman, Ibrahim Kamara, was quoted by BBC Sport.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “He was excused not to travel with Leone Stars to Kono in the east of Sierra Leone to play a friendly warm-up match after he reported that his uncle had died only for him to show up in a non-division community league match in Freetown to play for one of the teams in the competition.”   [/perfectpullquote]

Kamara, who has been capped twice by Sierra Leone, is not new to controversy as he recently cancelled his contract with Swedish club Trelleborgs just after one week.

The last seasons’ Sierra Leone Premier League top scorer, Kamara stated that he wanted to return to Freetown as he could not cope with the cold weather in Sweden.

Sierra Leone is preparing to play a double 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin later this month.
