Misconduct Sees Michael Vinicius’ Kotoko Contract Terminated

Asante Kotoko have agreed to rescind striker Michael Vinicius Silva de Morais, the perennial Ghana Premier League champions said on Wednesday.

The Brazilian striker was let go following several cases of absenteeism in training without reason among other claims.

Vinicius arrived in Kumasi in March this year on a two-year deal but only lasted for only 78 days with the Porcupine Warriors.

A source at the club alleges; [perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””]“He once wanted to fight with one of his teammates for something so small … something to do with training kit. There are just too many things that led to him leaving the club.”[/perfectpullquote]

Asante Kotoko coach Mariano Baretto was contacted by journalists to give the club’s side of the story, but he denied it all.

However, various reports indicate that the Brazilian was drug addict and was allegedly engaged in some drugs related issues in Kumasi.

Micheal Vinicius was previously on the books of Fluminense in Brazil, Linkoping City and Estoril in Portugal.

He also turned for Japanese third-tier club Grulla Marioka last year before returning to Sweden to join Vasalunds.
