Mathare United Winger Moves to Egypt

Mathare United and Harambee Stars winger, Cliff Nyakeya, has joined Egyptian Premier League side Masr FC for an undisclosed period.

Mathare United and Harambee Stars winger, Cliff Nyakeya, has joined Egyptian Premier League side Masr FC for an undisclosed period.

The 2018 Kenyan Premier League midfielder of the year had a sensational 2018/19 season with the Slum Boys and had been linked with a move to several clubs including moneybags Wazito FC.

He has however managed to seal a move to the newly-promoted side Masr FC and was on Thursday unveiled officially. His former club has congratulated and wished him the best at his new home.

“Cliff Nyakeya arrived at the club in June 2016 as an unknown teenager with lots of potential and three seasons later, he will be playing in the Egyptian top tier. Congratulations on your move to Al Masr,” Mathare United tweeted.

Nyakeya began his career at Gor Mahia’s youth team. After several years with K’Ogalo’s junior side, he was signed by Mathare and went on to become a key player for the Francis Kimanzi coached side.
